WPS superintendent Brian Reagan, a Waltham native, will be named a finalist for a superintendent vacancy in Hudson where he lives with his family and worked previously.
The superintendent confirmed the news in a message to all Waltham school employees Thursday.
“Thursday evening, the Hudson School Committee will announce my name among a list of finalists for the Superintendency of that district,” Reagan wrote.
“As some of you know, Hudson is the community where I have lived for the past 25 years and I spent 7 years there as the principal of their high school.”
Reagan said he intended to announce the news after the Hudson School Committee made it official, but word had started to spread in Waltham.
“There is a long process ahead, so I will not say anything more at this time, other than apologize for information spreading early.”
Reagan (WHS ‘90) started as Waltham superintendent on July 1, 2020, and led the district through COVID.
If he gets the Hudson job and leaves, Waltham would likely appoint an interim superintendent and convene a search committee for a new superintendent.
