Concerts Going Off The Common But You Can Watch Live

Published by Chris Wangler - June 15, 2020.
Will the annual Concerts on the Common series be held amid coronavirus Phase 3 restrictions?
The shows will go on, but without audiences. To allow residents to enjoy the music as it happens, WCAC-TV will broadcast and stream the concerts live.
Starting on July 7 and running until August 25, eight consecutive concerts “off the Common” will take place at an undisclosed location every Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Waltham Arts Council board member Kelly Durkee-Erwin explained the decision to air the concerts live without audiences, saying it was made after consultation with Waltham health officials, the mayor and police.
“Although this is a disappointment to some,” she said, “this concept allows us to meet our mission to support our local musicians with paid work during these hard times.”
Here is the lineup for the summer concert series:
July 7 Martin & Kelly
July 14 Classic Groove
July 21 Waltham American Legion Band
July 28 Studio Two (Beatles Tribute Band)
August 4 Tom Bruhl Trio
August 11 Soft Touch
August 18 Reminisants
August 25 Mystique
