Connors Pool Closed Down

Published by Chris Wangler - August 3, 2020.
COVID-19 contact has forced the closure of a state-run public pool in Waltham.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) announced Monday morning that Connors Memorial Swimming Pool was closed “due to an individual at the facility coming into close contact with someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19”
Signs posted at the pool at 330 River Street cited “potential exposure of staff to COVID-19.”
The Connors Pool closure is “effective immediately, and until further notice.”
DCR said it would have the facility “deep cleaned and sanitized.”
Another state-run public pool in Fitchburg was also shut down Monday for the same reason.
Connors Pool opened under coronavirus restrictions back in late June during Phase II of the state’s reopening plan.
The free pool had been open daily from 11:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
