Elected officials were sworn in Sunday, January 7 at city hall.

Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll attended as a guest speaker.

The majority were incumbents who earned re-election, including Jeannette McCarthy, who was sworn in for a sixth term.

She easily defeated Ward 9 councilor Jonathan Paz in November's municipal election.

There are two new faces: School Committee Member James Zanghi, who won one of three school committee seats in November.

Bill Hanley was sworn in as the Ward 3 city councilor in North Waltham.

The Ward 3 seat was occupied for 20 years by George Darcy, who is now off the council after a failed run for an at-large seat.

Meanwhile, Paul Brasco is returning as one of six at-large city councilors after being edged out in 2021.

Robert Logan is returning as Ward 9 city councilor after winning in November.

The longtime councilor lost the seat in 2019 to Jonathan Paz, who is now off the council after losing in the mayoral race.

John McLaughlin won a sixth term as Ward 4 Councilor in November.

On Sunday he was elected City Council President.

Congrats to all!
