"Ooey, Gooey and Chewy"

Another cable network has featured extreme menu items from a popular Moody Street breakfast place.
This week, In a Pickle was featured in an episode of Food Paradise entitled “Extreme Eats” (S13, E11) on the Cooking Channel [see below for link].
In the segment, owner Tim Burke prepares two extreme breakfast dishes: the Frosted Animal Cracker Pancakes and the Smores Hazelnut Chocolate French Toast.

“I think people like big fun food because it’s an escape,” he says on camera.
Tim said that both dishes proved “hugely popular” (no pun intended) with diners, including a few who appear in the episode to chow down and describe the appeal.
“You’ve got your icing and sprinkles oozing all over the place,” said one. “It’s just flavor overload!”

Over the years, In a Pickle’s creative food has been featured on a half dozen shows, some local (Chronicle, Phantom Gourmet, Wicked Bites) and some national (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Best Places to Pig Out).
Tim says the Guy Fieri show was the “crown jewel.”
The Food Paradise segment was shot way back in October 2018. It took two years to air because the show was sold, but Tim says it’s one of his favorites appearances to date. “It came out really well,” he said.
But there’s no time to rest on his laurels. He’s preparing to tape another segment for a NESN show soon.
And COVID? Tim said business at In a Pickle has been good since he reopened with outdoor service. “We’ve been lucky and worked hard,” he said.
Meanwhile, he’s preparing to reopen his other Moody Street place, Playmakers, on Monday, August 17.
