WPD: B&E Suspects Stole Firearm From Apt and Fled

Some Waltham schools sheltered in place Friday as police sought two men in connection with a break and enter and firearm theft at a North Waltham apartment.
Around 9:00 a.m. Waltham Police responded to a suspicious incident at 5 Judith Lane near Lexington Street and Trapelo Road.
When police arrived, two males were observed fleeing the building, one on foot, one in a vehicle.
The vehicle was found abandoned 200 yards away. Police determined that a break and enter had taken place at an apartment.
Police units, K9s and drones searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
A Waltham Police release said an investigation determined that a firearm had been stolen.
A “low risk shelter in place” order was issued for some nearby schools out of an abundance of caution.
Police said there was no threat to the schools, and the order was lifted around noon.
The incident remains under investigation.
