Journalist Susan Zalkind has reported on the 2011 Waltham triple homicide and its possible connection to the Boston Marathon bombing since they happened.

The Newton native narrates a new streaming series, The Murders Before the Marathon, as a reporter who was friends with Erik Weissman, one of three male victims found with their throats slit at 12 Harding Avenue.

As in her previous reporting, Zalkind questions if the bombing could have been prevented if the murders had been solved.

“The lack of information and conflicting accounts from those in power has caused additional harm I have sought to address,” Zalkind wrote in a Facebook post.

“It is my sincerest wish that pursuing the truth, and telling this story accurately and respectfully, will bring some sense of solace to those who loved these men, my community and my home.”

Currently there’s no premiere date for the three-part Hulu documentary series, which is executive produced by the award-winning documentary production house Story Syndicate, Anonymous Content and Matt Cook.

The Murders Before the Marathon and a number of similar projects are presented by ABC News Studios, a new venture with original feature documentary films, series and specials on topics such as true crime, investigations, pop culture and news-adjacent stories.
