Waltham firefighters were busy on Tuesday in nearby towns.

After assisting at a deck fire in Weston earlier in the day, they were summoned to Watertown around 7:15 p.m.

A blaze tore through a residence at 195/197 Sycamore Street, just over the Waltham line.

The 2-alarm fire caused heavy damage to the rental property. Units from Waltham, Belmont, Newton and Cambridge responded.

Waltham Ladder 2 set up in a small driveway to access the rear of the building, and firefighters were on the roof battling the fire.
