Reflecting a nationwide trend, a few dozen demonstrators rallied for reproductive rights Tuesday evening on Waltham Common.
They were responding to a leaked U.S. Supreme Court draft decision that could strike down Roe v. Wade—a possibility with potentially wide-ranging impacts on society and politics.
Organizer Jennifer Rose of Waltham Concerned Citizens was one of several holding signs reading “WE WON’T GO BACK.”
“The overall mood was angry disbelief and renewed determination to protect women’s rights to control their own bodies and make their own choices about when—or whether—to bear children,” Jennifer said.
One woman said that outlawing abortion will not stop abortions; it will only make them less accessible and more dangerous.
