A gown from Yolanda’s extensive collection of bridal wear is being featured in a new wedding customs exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston [see details below].

Something Old, Something New “explores the origins of American wedding customs and looks at how they’ve evolved—and stayed the same—from before the Victorian era and beyond.”

The fashion icon gifted the museum a Bob Mackie bridal dress and hat from the 1980s that reflects her affinity for glitz and glamor.

A museum display card said the ensemble was made from “light pink silk with a layer of white tulle adorned by countless white faux pearls sewn to create a floral pattern.”

It’s the second time this year Yolanda’s bridal collection has been displayed at a major area museum.

Some other Yolanda museum gifts are also currently on display at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem.
